Clock rate

Read:

One second is a long time in the life of a computer. In one second the ‘clock’, which controls the work of the processor, can pass through several million cycles. The speed of the clock is measured in megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz). One MHz is one million cycles per second, 1 GHz is one billion cycles per second. The diagram below gives clock speeds for different types of computers over time.

Choose the correct answer:

1) The clock rate of early computers was 5 MHz.

2) Since 1981 clock rates have 4.77 MHz to 5.2 GHz.

3) The clock rates in the circa 2002 computers 2.5 GHz.
